If we dont produce more sustainable foods, then a lot of our fertile land will be destroyed and unusable.  As a result, all of our food will have to be shipped from the mainland, and if the shipments of Hawaii's food is disturbed, we have less than 10 days of food available for everyone to eat.

I envision Hawaii’s children to be educated about food sustainability, and schools implementing these teachings in their curriculum. It is organizations like Kokua Hawaii Foundation that will provide lesson plans and support for volunteers and teachers to educate our children. But for now, we should support local organic farmers so that they receive more support and demand from our community, and strengthen their economic position.
